Aviation inspired Rolls-Royce
The latest photos of the eagerly anticipated Rolls-Royce Wraith, which offer a first glimpse of the interior, suggest the designers have been drawing inspiration from luxury yacht and fighter aircraft design.
In its third set of official pre-launch images, Rolls-Royce has gone from teasing motoring enthusiasts and its existing client base about the exterior and about what sort of engine may be under the hood to focusing on what to expect inside the cabin of its latest car, the Wraith.
The latest sneak peek shots of the coupe, destined for its official reveal at the Geneva motor show in March, show -- as one would expect -- that the interior is handmade from high-end natural materials and the focus on bespoke craftsmanship the company is known for. The curved nature of the dashboard hints again that this Rolls-Royce may yet still break with tradition in that it will be a true driver's car.
The aeronautical style of the clock also hints that this car could well offer something different from the marque's existing models. The open pore wood paneling on the doors, known as Canadel Panelling, is more typically found in luxury yachts.
These images are the penultimate release from the car company before the Geneva Motor Show. Rolls-Royce is expected to publish one final set of images at the end of February to further whet the public's appetite.
