Candlelight dinner for two this Valentine's Day at McDonald's
Looking for a low-budget Valentine’s Day idea for your loved one? A McDonald’s restaurant in Southport, North Carolina in the US is hosting a candlelit dinner, featuring musical selections by Ronald himself.
Since being uploaded on Reddit February 3, the photo of a poster advertising the restaurant’s third annual Valentine’s Day dinner has been viewed more than a million times and generated nearly a thousand cheeky comments with users pulling out every McDonald’s-related pun in the book.
Guests can expect to be seated by a host, waiter service, and even table-side delivery, according to the posting.
“Our crew will greet you at the door, seat you, take your order and deliver it to you. All you have to do is just sit back, relax and enjoy your romantic evening with your date. Featuring musical selections by Ron.”

Save the date! A Feb. 14 Valentine's Day meal ad has gone viral.
Reddit users are having particular fun with the latter feature, and are coming up with their own suggestions for music choices such as, "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Eat That)," “Hello is it mayo you looking for?” and "When A Man Loves A Burger.”
Interestingly, it’s not the first time a McDonald’s has gone upscale.
In a Sydney, Australia suburb, a McDonald’s franchisee was given the green light last year to serve sandwiches on proper plates and cutlery for a limited time. The restaurant-style service was offered during the dinner hour.
But when a pair of cheeky teenage boys in London tried to do the same last fall, bringing their own cutlery, tablecloth, wine glasses and tea lights to a local McDonald’s, they were given the boot. Their photos of the stunt, however, went viral and were retweeted thousands of times on Twitter.
