The German flamboyant old timer of fashion who is behind the Wunderkind line, Wolfgang Joop dedicated his presentation of the autumn/winter collection at Paris Fashion Week on Monday, to the bad woman of the world.
71-year old Joop managed to stay right on trend after all these years with his unconventional collection called The Last Empire which juxtaposes creative layering, elegant tailoring, eclectic of textured fabrics and clash of warm and vivid hues.
Leopard prints, cannabis leave motives, horse riding that represents the tapestry of baroque screams the larger-than-life effect that is both wearable and fantastical.
“It belongs to a generation fighting for freedom, personal freedom. And I think it is also personal freedom looking so bad and expensive person, because it is about the bad girl not good girl,” said Joop in a behind the scene interview with AFP.

Wolfgand Joop is considered as part of the Germany’s fashion troika along with Karl Lagerfeld and Jil Sander. The man behind the defunct fashion and cosmetic label, Joop! has successfully made a critically acclaimed comeback with his Wunderkind line which was launched in 2004.
Joop also resuscitated his eponymous defunct label Joop! in 2012.
He is an all rounder playing multiple roles in arts and design - sculptor, painter, writer and illustrator. Some of his work can be found in Hamburg’s prestigious Art Museum – and often contributes to publications including Der Spiegel and Stern.
He is also the father of fashion designer, Jette Joop .
