ENLIGHTMENT is an eternal gift from Allah.
What’s in a mortal who cannot judge another being ... the Almighty knows what’s in the heart of the sons of Adam.
For Safiuddin Ilias, 22, he never wanted to be different. True that he was challenged with a test, but he repented.
For many years, Safiuddin only responded when people called him ‘Safiey’. Safiey started experiencing the gradual transition from man to woman who loved all things beautiful.
While other men found pleasures buying big boys toys, Safiey opted for lipsticks, frocks, handbags and high heels.
In a series of Facebook posts, Safiuddin finally opened up.
In the heartwarming message, he hoped the ‘dark phase’ he experienced could be a lesson for the others in the society.
He admitted that the turning point in his life came after a series of life challenges including one when he felt he was greedily seeking for only worldly material.
"Bila kamu asyik menyebut tentang hal dunia , maka ada dunia di dalam hati kamu. Bila kamu asyik menyebut tentang hal akhirat , maka ada Allah SWT di hati kamu." ("When you are constantly talking about worldly matters, then you’d find only that in your heart. When you constantly talk about the afterlife, then there’s Allah SWT in your heart),” he wrote.
Safiuddin however admitted that after he 'changed', many criticized him especially when one nasty remark indicated that he merely seeking for ‘cheap thrill’.
The enterprising Safiuddin, who runs a beauty product business, said he hoped the society would stop using religion to mock the underprivileged and minority groups especially the LGBT community.
He stressed that it would be beneficial for the society to provide guidance and prayers for the community to change.
“Change cannot be forced, it comes from the heart. And Allah holds the heart,” he said.
Safiuddin also revealed that he had just underwent a sex change operation to enable him to live life as a man, again. Peacefully.
