Google has unveiled another travel-related feature that will allow mobile users to find restaurants and directions around their hotel without having to key in their location.
There is a hitch, though: For the service to work, Google will troll your Gmail account and find the hotel confirmation.
Here’s how it works: On the Google search app, tap the mic and make your request.
Users can ask questions like “Show me restaurants around my hotel” or “Give me directions to my hotel from here.”
It’s the latest travel-related feature from the search engine giant aimed at making it an indispensable tool for globetrotters.
Google Maps recently added transit information for 15,000 towns and cities around the world including public transit routes and schedules. In cities like Vancouver and Chicago, commuters can also look up real-time updates and the fastest modes of transportations.
Google also offers a flight search comparison tool and a mapping program that allows travelers to virtually visit theme parks, landmarks and iconic travel sites.
