The towering skyscraper, which stands at a neck-craning 828 meters, is one of the most recognizable landmarks of modern times. As well as holding the record for the tallest ever man-made structure on land, it is also home to the world's highest apartment buildings and is the building with the most floors in the world.
Its observation deck, at 555 meters, is also the highest in the world to have an outdoor terrace.
With over 24,000 glass panels, it takes around three months to clean the Burj Khalifa's windows from top to bottom. The tower was built by more than 12,000 workers of over 100 different nationalities.
The skyscraper's original design was just 518 meters tall, William Baker, lead engineer of the Burj Khalifa, reveals in the video. However, it grew by a massive 310 meters during the design process.
The video is part of a series of films released by Guinness World Records to mark its upcoming 60th anniversary in 2015.
