Malaysian comedian Harith Iskander has joined other international celebrities in the newly-launched United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund's (UNICEF) Super Dad's Campaign here yesterday.
The campaign, which is an initiative to celebrate fatherhood also highlights the importance of love, play, protection as well as good nutrition for the healthy development of young children's brains.
UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Novak Djokovic, who is also an international tennis legend, in a statement said there were many challenges that fathers across the world faced and the campaign was about supporting them (fathers) so they could be the super dads their children desperately needed.
Meanwhile, father of three Harith in his video done in collaboration with UNICEF Malaysia took a lighthearted approach to showcasing the everyday challenges faced by Malaysian fathers.
"Juggling between work, financial obligations, no time off and having to maintain that ''macho'' image - it''s not always up to us how much of a super dad we get to be.
"We are all trying our hardest, and that''s what matters in the end," he said.
The initiative invites families to post photos and videos of what it takes to be ''Super Dads'', using the hashtag #EarlyMomentsMatter on their social media accounts.
The heart-warming videos and photos of celebrity fathers will be coupled with others from across the world, including those who are doing their best to raise their children in extremely difficult circumstances.
All photos as well as video submissions to the Super Dads initiative will be featured on the #EarlyMomentsMatter gallery and UNICEF will select the most heart-warming, humorous and imaginative photo and video submissions, posting them on the organisation''s own digital platforms.
However, photo submissions from Malaysians with the hashtag #EarlyMomentsMatter-MY will be entered into a photo contest organised by UNICEF Malaysia for a chance to win prizes.
