Lim Kok Wing's tweet on David Bowie's demise draws criticism
Lim explained that the opinion was solely his and people can choose whether to agree or disagree.
FOUNDER and President of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Tan Sri Dr Lim Kok Wing, found himself entangled in a Twitter brawl with his followers due to a harsh comment he made over the death of music legend, David Bowie.
David bowie is dead. I never understood him, why he would paint his face and wear the clothes he did. But obviously he was very popular.
— Limkokwing (@limkokwing) January 11, 2016
Netizens deemed the tweet as 'disrespectful' and it was merely uncouth for Lim, as a respectable founder of an arts and creative college, to write a tweet of such nature.
@limkokwing Because he made great music! This is an incredibly disrespectful tweet from a founder of a creative college.

@limkokwing this from the founder of a "creative" college ? Wowwww
— Sara Param (@SaraParam) January 12, 2016
@limkokwing And you claim to be a head of a creative institution?
— Michael Mirasol (@flipcritic) January 12, 2016
@limkokwing Oh my God! I can't believe you tweeted *that* about #DavidBowie, Tan Sri! And I thought you were 'creative'?!
— admtnmkrz (@ATMology) January 12, 2016
@limkokwing if your aim is to go viral with this tweet, congrats. But please show some respect, David was a great artist.

In his replies posted a few hours ago, Lim explained that the opinion was solely his and people can choose whether to agree or not.
I find it amazing some have chosen to be embarrassingly rude. I expressed an opinion. You don't have to agree. Why be so horribly rude?
— Limkokwing (@limkokwing) January 12, 2016
It's perfectly fine if you don't agree with a tweet I posted. Disagree by all means. Just don't be rude.
— Limkokwing (@limkokwing) January 12, 2016
He also advised his followers to not get emotional and be courteous in posting their criticisms.
Bowie, regarded as one of the biggest musical influence, passed away yesterday after 18 months of battling cancer.
