1. Noreen Noor
80’s pop star best known for her hit song “Siang Terbayang Malam Merindu” passed away on Oct 22 of heart and kidney complications. The artiste, whose real name was Noraine Mohd Nor, was laid to rest at her hometown at KM16, Kampung Pulai, Malacca.
2. Southwest Airlines
A US Air Marshall was arrested for allegedly taking lewd pictures of female passengers. Upon admitting to the crime, Adam Bartsch, 28, was temporarily jailed but has since got out and will be facing a Nashville court on Nov 14.
3. Bajet 2014/Belanjawan
Malaysians were interested in Budget 2014 tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Oct 25. The Budget saw the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and a cut in sugar subsidy, among others.
4. Wawa Zainal/Anak Wawa Zainal
The 22-year-old model cum actress announced that she and hubby Aeril Zafrel had a baby boy on Aug 24. The couple first posted a photo of their offspring on Instagram on Oct 13.
5. Escape Plan
The action-packed movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Jim Caviezel, and Vinnie Jones opened in Malaysian cinemas on October 10. The film follows Stallone's character Ray Breslin, a structural engineer who is incarcerated in the world's most secret and secure prison, aided in his escape by fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer (Schwarzenegger).

Eid-al-Adha or Hari Raya Haji related searches were top-of-mind.
7. 小 小 传奇(Little Little Legend)
This new TV series on Astro SHX debuted Nov 1.
8. Rowan Atkinson
Rumours of the actor embracing Islam, later proven untrue, circulated the net. It was initially reported by website sadabladi.com and an Israeli media site, israellycool.com.
9. Gravity
This highly-rated movie starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney opened in Malaysian cinemas on Oct 3. The sci-fi adventure centres on astronauts who survive the mid-orbit destruction of a Space Shuttle and attempt to return to Earth.
10. The Heirs
This Korean TV series debuted on Oct 9 and runs for 20 episodes. The drama follows a group of privileged, elite high school students as they are groomed to take over their families’ business empires.
