The opening of the first animation themed park in Asia, Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS), on the second day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri today was eagerly awaited by the public.
People were seen thronging to the venue from as early as 8am.
Speaking at the pre opening of the themed park, MAPS board of directors chairman Ramelle Ramli said about 7,000 visitors were expected to visit the animation themed park until closing time at 10 pm.
MAPs has over 40 unique attractions with six world famous animation themes, including Boboiboy, The Smurfs and several animated characters from Dreamworks.
According to one of the visitors, Noor Mas Ayu Che Noor Rasek, 33, she was very happy to spend time with her family at the themed park although some games and attractions are yet to be available.
The themed park, built on a 21-ha site, can accomodate 8,000 visitors in a day and is opened from 10 am to 6 pm daily and from 10 am to 10 pm on weekends and public holidays.
