'Ola Bola brought back memories of being at Merdeka Stadium' - Nazir Razak

DATUK Seri Nazir Razak praised the movie Ola Bola, describing the film as bringing back memories of the good old days of Malaysian football.

The younger brother of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who had just watched the film, said he loved the movie as it reminded him how it was being at Merdeka Stadium during a match.

"Just watched it; loved it! Brought back memories of being at Merdeka Stadium on that glorious night," Nazir wrote in an Instagram post recently.

The CIMB Group chairman said the film Ola Bola was powerful reminder of a better Malaysia back then.

He also expressed sadness how corruption subsequently damaged the Malaysian football scene, and that corruption and racism has undermined nation building.

"Corruption subsequently damaged our football. Corruption & racism has undermined our nation building. Felt very sad afterwards," he added.

Set during the 70s, Ola Bola tells the story of a group of Malaysian footballers who, through teamwork and spirit, worked together to become national heroes.
