The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s triennial international survey compared test scores from 65 countries to find out which country has the happiest children.
Happiness was ranked based on the percentage of students who agreed or disagreed with the statement “I feel happy at school.”
Test scores were ranked based on the combined individual rankings of the students’ math, reading, and science scores.
Interestingly, Indonesia has the happiest children in the world, followed by Singapore, Taiwan, Switzerland and Hong Kong.
The unhappiest children are from South Korea, followed by Qatar, Argentina, Cyprus and Greece.
Is there a correlation between the quality of education and how happy a child is in school?
