But to certain people, beef or chicken rendang are too mainstream and for a change, they will sort for seafood rendang using alternative ingredients such as cockerels, mud clams, fish or crabs.

SPECIAL PRAWN RENDANG
(ideal for 4-5 people)
Main ingredient:
500 gram of prawn (cleaned)
Ingredients to blend:
6 red onions (medium size)
4 lemongrass stalks
20 green cili api
1 tbs turmeric powder
1 inch galangal
400ml coconut milk
1 pc tamarind slice
4 tbs kerisik (toasted and pounded coconut)
Salt
Sugar
4 kaffir lime leaves (thinly sliced)
2 turmeric leaves kunyit (thinly sliced)
