Carrera y Carrera, Spain's most famous jeweller, has unveiled its latest collection, 'Sol y Sombra', in Malaysia.
Its chief executive officer, Nathalie Guedj, said the company decided to exhibit the collection here because of the quality of the Starhill gallery shopping centre and the staff's commitment and passion for Carrera's brand.
"Today we would like to show the Sombra. It has never been introduced in Malaysia before," she told Bernama at the Starhill Gallery.
Sombra, which is in white gold, comes in a set of necklace, bracelet, earring and ring and is designed in the shape of the Sun with 31.63 total carats of diamonds.
Guedj, a Spanish, said the company's collection was inspired mostly by the flora and fauna and the Spanish culture.
There is a story behind every piece and each year the company would come up with a theme for the piece they had to design.
This year's 'Music' theme was launched in May and arrived here in September.
Previous designs were based on Spanish guitar, women's flamenco dress and also inspired by the bull fight costume.
Carrera y Carrera started in the 19th century in a small workshop in the centre of Madrid where the two Carrera cousins were initially engaged in the business of cutting diamonds.
There are 600 pieces exhibited in this boutique and are specially handmade from their workshop in Spain.
"The prices range from RM4,000 up to RM35,000," Guedj said.
Carrera y Carrera's great strength is refined workmanship and design.
Its brand is about creativity, meaningful culture and classical which offers outstanding jewels that dazzle and charm.
"This makes us special and is one of our strongest selling points," said Guedj.
Carrera y Carrera is loved by celebrities such as Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, Scarlet Johansson and Giselle Bundchen.
It is present in 34 countries worldwide and has 22 boutiques.
