Starbucks releases metal $450 coffee cards for the holidays

Fans of Starbucks -- and we mean big fans -- may want to put this on their wish list this holiday season: a $450 rose-gold, limited edition metal coffee card.

In collaboration with online luxury marketplace Gilt.com, Starbucks will be releasing 1,000 premium cards in the US December 6 at 12 pm EST.

The $450 Starbucks passport comes pre-loaded with $400 and automatic Gold-level status, entitling cardholders to a free food or drink item on their birthday, a 15 percent discount at the online store and free refills on iced or brewed coffee.

The rose-gold cards are laser-etched with the Starbucks lettering and hand-assembled.

Last year, a similar offer featuring holiday stainless steel cards sold out in minutes.
