At only the tender age of three, a girl in China moved the hearts of people around the world as she tends to her bedridden mother in hospital.
The girl’s mother, Wang Huixian, suffered multiple bone fractures sustained from a hit-and-run accident in September.
The girl’s grandparents were tragically killed in the incident while her father has lost contact with the family her parents’ divorce several years ago.
Since then, Qianqian has taken the task of taking care of her mother’s needs while her own welfare is often neglected. She was seen wearing the same outfit for several days and eating very little.
Apart from fetching food and drinks for her mother, Qianqian has been cleaning her mother with a damp cloth and taking her bedpan to the toilet.
As Wang recounted their family’s ordeal in an interview on Henan TV, Qianqian can be seen wiping away her mother’s tears.
Compounding to her problems, Wang is facing difficulties paying for her medical bills that have amounted to tens of thousands of yuan.
Police meanwhile have yet to trace the runaway driver for compensation.
Since their story appeared on Chinese social network sites, it prompted an outpour of donations from strangers enabling Wang to afford surgery to fix her fractures.
Wang and her daughter have since received around 6,000 Yuan (RM3,960).
