Two new GSC cinemas in Sarawak this year

In addition to a brand new cinema it opened here today, Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) will open up three new cinemas this year, with one more in Sarawak and one each in Negeri Sembilan and Kuala Lumpur, said
its Chief Executive Officer Koh Mei Lee.
GSC today opened its first all-digital cinema here in Sarawak, the GSC Bintang Megamall cinema with eight screens and this will be followed by the 10-screen GSC City One Mall in Kuching which will be opened soon.
"The eight screen GSC Bintang Megamall in Miri is the first all-digital halls in the GSC chain, the first all-digital hall cinemas in East Malaysia," she said at the official opening of the RM17.5 million GSC Bintang Megamall today.
She said GSC would be opening the 10-screen GSC Palm Mall in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan in the second quarter of this year and a flagship 11-screen cinema, GSC Nu Sentral, in Kuala Lumpur to be operational by year end.
"For 2014, we are looking foward to GSC IOI City Mall in PutraJaya and GSC Aman Central in Kedah," she said.
With the opening of GSC Bintang Megamall Miri, which has 1,010 seating capacity, the group now has a total of 27 cinemas and 228 screens nationwide including 93 digital halls.
