Two more kelah zones will be opened at the Kelah Fish Sanctuary at Sungai Petang, Kenyir Lake in June next year to meet rising demand by tourists.

Deputy general manager (Operation) of Terengganu Tengah Development Authority (Ketengah), Tengku Ahmad Nadzri Tengku Musa said the two kelah zones are situated near Kejor kelah zone.

"The two kelah zones will be able to meet the demand by tourists since Kejor kelah zone can only accommodate 100 tourists daily. With the two new zones, the Kelah Sanctuary can accommodate 200 more tourists daily," he told reporters after 'Kenali Kenyir 01 Bersama Media Terengganu' programme at Kenyir Lake recently.

Ketengah was in the midst of taming the kelah fish by feeding them to make them familiar with the presence of humans.
