The new, limited Vespa LX150 Apple Edition was launched by Naza Premira Sdn Bhd on Tuesday.

Priced at RM11,388.00, the LX150 promises to be a future collector’s classic with only 168 units of the Hanoi assembled scooters made available in Malaysia.

The design of the white two-wheeler was inspired by the 1969 advertising campaign for Vespa with the slogan ‘Chi Vespa mangia le mele’ which roughly translates to ‘ride a Vespa and take a bite out of the apple’, a play on several connotations of the apple being a symbol of health as well as desired as the forbidden fruit.

This new addition is an update to the current range of Vespas sold here including the GTS Super, GTV and the standard LX.

Present at the launch were Naza Group’s two wheel division Vice President, Nik Danial Nik Mahmood, Naza Premira Sdn Bhd Acting Head, Terrence Duncan and Joint Group CEO, Datuk SM Faisal SM Nasimuddin.

The company aims to double its sales numbers this year to at least 2000 units.

Five new showrooms and 3S centres will open its doors beginning with Penang in the near future followed by Johore, Kelantan, Terengganu and Sarawak in the second half of 2013.

In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations, Naza Premira is offering a discount on the standard LX models (priced at RM8,888.00). The promotion lasts until February 28.
