Boutique owner Azizah Ibrahim's affection for cats knows no bounds.
Such is her love for the felines that this 'cat woman' has taken to caring for 60 stray cats which she found in the streets.
Two of the cats are physically challenged and Azizah, 40, did not batter an eyelid when she spotted them.
One of them, which she affectionately calls 'Sam', is visually-impaired while the other suffers from neurological disorder after it was hit on the head by a heartless individual, about three months ago.
According to Azizah, she found 'Sam' through the social networking site, Facebook, when a student posted a photo of the feline which was injured, and was unable to cover the cost for its treatment.
"After providing treatment, the doctors could not save Sam's eyes, and it is still undergoing treatment," she said when met at the 'Craft Pets Day' programme held in conjunction with National Craft Day, at the Craft Complex here Saturday.
She said although Sam was blind, it was very clever and its rough nature made it less popular among the other cats.
Azizah said her interest in caring for cats began in 2012, when her pet cat, in its own way, 'alerted' her of a fire in progress at her house by tugging at her clothes.
The feline inadvertently, saved the house from the fire.
Azizah said her participation in cat exhibition and competition was to encourage people to get closer to and love the felines, as well as sell essential items and food for cats.
Craft Pets Day is among various events held in conjunction with the 14th National Craft Day celebrations from Feb 24 to March 6, 10am to 10pm, at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex.
