1 killed in Kampung Tanjung Batu gun battle

One Sulu terrorist was killed by the security forces in a clash with the group today morning at Kampung Tanjung Batu.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib said the clash between the security forces and a group of four terrorists, started at 9.55am and one of them was shot dead at 10.15am.
He said the gun battle with two other members will continue and the security forces are still searching for them.
The authorities will take out the body of the gunman once the situation is safe.
“With the death of one gunman this morning, the number of enemies killed is at 62,” said Hamza.
Hamza also said that the remnants of the armed group are now moving in small units and warned the public not to enter the operation zone.
He also wanted the public to immediately contact the security forces if they have any information on the whereabouts of such groups.
“We are confident that it won’t be long before we are able to clear the area and allow the villagers to return back to their homes,” he said.
Meanwhile, said army field commander Lt Gen Datuk Seri Zulkiple Kassim who was also at the press conference said the operation will continue until Kampung Tanjung Batu until it is safe and free from terrorists.
