10th AMTC enters final round today

The 10th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime(AMMTC) and its related meetings, entered its final round today, before proceeding with the Special Asean Ministerial Meeting on the Rise of Radicalisation and Violent Extremism (Sammrrave), tomorrow.
The meeting began at 9am with the 2nd AMMTC +Japan Consultation where it was chaired by Brunei Energy Minister Pehin Dato' Dr Muhammad Yasmin Umar.
After the session, the ASEAN leaders converging at the meeting were scheduled to sign the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on Transnational Crime and the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on Irregular Movement of Persons in Southest Asia.
The final day was also scheduled to see two courtesy calls on Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi by Indonesian Manpower and Transmigration Minister Hanif Dhakiri and Vietnamese Public Security Minister Tran Dai Quang.
A bilateral meeting between Ahmad Zahid, who is also Malaysian Home Minister, and Hanif was also scheduled to be held.
A memorandum of understanding between Malaysia and Vietnam government on the cooperation of prevention and combating Transnational Crime was also scheduled today.
The deputy prime minister would also host a private luncheon today.
The four-day biennial AMMTC was officiated by Ahmad Zahid on Tuesday.
He is also expected to officiate SAMMRRAVE tomorrow which among others would focus on issues relating to radicalism and extremism in the region.
