A 10-year-old boy was burnt to death in a fire at a two-storey house in Jalan Padang Kerbau, Kampung Pujut, early today.
Miri Fire and Rescue Department chief, Law Poh Kong said the victim in the 6 am fire incident was identified as Mohd Farisikmal Taib.
He was believed to have been sleeping on the first floor of the house and fell down when the floor gave way, to the garage on the ground floor which was also used as a car workshop.
Law said five people comprising three adults and two children including Mohd Farisikmal were at home when the fire broke out.
"The cause of the fire is still being investigated. Besides the house, four cars and a motorcycle were also burnt."
He said fire-fighters arrived at the scene at 6.09 am and doused the fire by 6.27 am.
