1,208 new COVID-19 cases, three deaths, three new clusters  - Health DG
Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah said besides three more clusters identified, states within the Klang Valley reported the highest number of new cases with 661, while the rest were recorded in Sabah.
KUALA LUMPUR:The number of COVID-19 infections in the last 24-hours remained at four digits after 1,208 new cases were reported overnight, with three deaths recorded.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said besides three more clusters identified, states within the Klang Valley reported the highest number of new cases with 661, while the rest were recorded in Sabah.
“Kuala Lumpur reported six imported cases, all of whom are foreigners who arrived from Indonesia, Bangladesh and Nepal (one case each) and India with three cases,” he said.
There were also 1,013 recoveries overnight, taking the cumulative recovery tally to 34,785 or 73.4 per cent of the total number of cases.
Dr Noor Hisham said the country’s infection tally now stood at 47,417 cases, with the number of active cases at 12,323.
He said the COVID-19 death toll in Malaysia was now at 271 cases, or 0.7 of the total number of cases, while 104 cases are currently being treated in the intensive care unit, with 42 of them intubated.
