158 flood victims at 4 Simpang Renggam relief centres as of 8am

One hundred and fifty-eight flood victims from 39 families at Simpang Renggam near Kluang are temporarily housed at four relief centres compared to 156 from 36 families last night.

Kluang district officer Muhamad Fuad Radzuan said the relief centres that have remained open as of 8 am are Dewan Kampung Kolam Air with 65 victims; Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Linau (24); Balai Raya Kampung Seri Maju Jaya (55); and Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Ithnin Maarof (14).

Sungai Benut and Empangan Machap are on alert level with readings of 5.14 metres and 16.93 metres respectively, he said.
