18 areas record unhealthy air quality

Eighteen areas recorded unhealthy air quality as at 9 am today, compared with 11 areas at 7 pm last night.
The Department of Environment stated that Bukit Rambai, Melaka recorded the highest air pollutant index (API) reading of 150, followed by Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan (142).
In Johor, the API reading for Kota Tinggi was 106, Larkin Lama (120), Muar (119) and Pasir Gudang (131).
Bandaraya Melaka recorded an API reading of 141, while two areas, Nilai and Seremban in Negeri Sembilan recorded 115 and 117, respectively.
In Pahang, the API readings for Indera Mahkota and Balok Baru, Kuantan were 105 and 135, respectively, while in Jerantut, 102.
The API readings for Banting, Port Klang and Shah Alam in Selangor were 125, 102 and 105, respectively, while those for Kemaman and Paka in Terengganu were 126 and 112, respectively.
Meanwhile, the API reading for Putrajaya was at an unhealthy 111.
An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy; and 300 and above, hazardous.
