18 arrested in connection with Wanita UMNO Branch chief's murder

Police have arrested 18 men for investigation into the murder of Felda Semenchu Wanita UMNO branch chief, Zalifah Jamaluddin on Feb 28.

Johor police chief Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said the men arrested in connection with the murder of Wanita UMNO leader are local residents and drug addicts.

"It is under Johor CID chief Datuk Hashnan Hassan. He is trying to solve the murder case," he told the media at Johor police headquarters, here today.

Zalifah,68, was found dead after a break-in at her home in Block 2, Felda Semenchu, Kota Tinggi.

The body was found by her son who came to the house and was shocked to find her mother unconscious in the bedroom while the house was ransacked.
