The Edge Media Group's publisher and CEO, Ho Kay Tat has been summoned by the police for questioning today, over articles pertaining to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) published in The Edge Financial Daily (The Edge).
The matter was confirmed by the Inspector-General of Police Secretariat's assistant head (Corporate Communications) ACP Datin Asmawati Ahmad.
"He has been called. He must come forward," she said when contacted here, declining to elaborate.
On Tuesday, The Edge had submitted documents, hard copies of emails, as well as a hard disk pertaining to 1MDB, which were in its possession to the Commercial Crime Investigation Department in Bukit Aman.
On Monday, The Edge Financial Daily had published a four-page article which focused on a joint-venture between 1MDB and PetroSaudi International.
The following day, 1MDB in a statement, slammed the newspaper, stating the allegations in the report were 'outdated, baseless, and recycled'.
