1MDB issue: Batu Kawan UMNO Youth lodges report against Khairuddin

Batu Kawan UMNO Youth on Friday lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) against Batu Kawan UMNO vice-chief Datuk Khairuddin Abu Hassan over the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) issue.

Its chief, Mohd Hilmie Ibrahim, the report was lodged to enable investigations to be carried out on Khairuddin and on the report he lodged with the MACC in Putrajaya on Thursday.

"We hope MACC can investigate Khairuddin and the mastermind behind him. Yesterday, he lodged a report with the MACC on 1MDB. It was a false report, he didn’t even produce any evidence.

"I also believe that there are elements of corruption in his report. So, we want MACC to investigate," he told reporters at the Penang MACC office here.

When asked whether Batu Kawan UMNO Youth had information on the mastermind, Mohd Hilmie said they had documents that would help MACC in its investigations, but refused to comment further.

In lodging his report on Thursday, Khairuddin said it would allow detailed and continuous investigations be carried out on the transparency of the administration, as well as expenditure and funds of the government-owned company.

Khairuddin also filed a report on 1MDB last December.
