Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has been urged to be more sympathetic and supportive of the Government’s effort in explaining the crisis involving strategic investment firm, 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) instead of putting more trust on reports published by the recently suspended media publication, The Edge.

Special Affairs Department (Jasa) panelist Lokman Noor Adam said, Muhyiddin should also wait patiently for the reports on 1MDB which would be provided by the government agencies soon.

"Thanks to the ongoing efforts by the Government agencies, the 1MDB issue has been finally made easy to clarify, the complexity of the issue can be simplified now with the help of leaders, writers, graphic designers, bloggers, facebookers, government agencies and other parties, including ordinary members who help disseminate the information that what we provide.

"Thank God, the developments regarding Xavier Andre Justo and Lester Melanyi exposures have revealed that a plot to tamper with the documents stolen from Petro Saudi exists. As the truths surfaces it has restored the party machineries spirit.

"Doesn’t Muhyiddin realize that The Edge has just been suspended by the Home Ministry? This has been anticipated for so long by government supporters against those who slander and try to sabotage the country's economy. Has Muhyiddin ever thought how the Home Ministry would be affected when he defends a newspaper which was just suspended by the ministry?" he told Astro AWANI here today.

Lokman was commenting on Muhyiddin’s statement that it was difficult for him (Muhyiddin) to comprehend matters involving 1MDB since the reports by The Edge were deemed not credible.

The Home Ministry has suspended the publishing permit of The Edge Weekly and The Edge Financial Daily for three months beginning July 27.
