1MDB: No need to surrender investigation papers to RCI
Reezal stressed that the investigation towards 1MDB was being reviewed in detail by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
There is no need for all investigation papers into state investor, 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) to be surrendered to the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) for the moment.
This was the opinion given by Deputy Foreign Minister, Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican in commenting on former Kedah menteri besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir's insistence for RCI to take immediate action on the issue.
Reezal stressed that the investigation towards 1MDB was being reviewed in detail by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
“In my opinion there is no need as we are still awaiting the final report from the auditor-general. I was a member of PAC and I have seen the preliminary report and it is very detailed.
“I saw that the Prime Minister had said if any wrongdoing is found through the report, none will be hidden,” he said after attending the UPSR 2015 awards ceremony at SMK Datuk Kailan here today.
He hoped no assumptions would be made until the final report into 1MDB is completed.
Reezal also guaranteed that based on his experience for two years as a member of PAC, all investigations would be made in a transparent manner and monitored by the Auditor-General Tan Sri Ambrin Buang, Tan Sri Ambrin Buang.
