Police have identified several individuals including opposition party members who met with former PetroSaudi International Ltd (PSI) executive Xavier Andre Justo in Singapore in connection to the sales of the company's confidential information.
Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the police would be recording their statement in the near future.
"We will first investigate if they were involved or not and I hope that they would provide their full cooperation.
"If not we would be forced to arrest and remand them," said Khalid to reporters during the Hari Raya open house in Bukit Aman today.
Thai police on Thursday had confirmed that Swiss national Xavier Justo had met with several Opposition leaders from Malaysia. the meeting was held at a hotel in Singapore before the confidential information were sold to a third party.
It was reported that Justo was arrested by Thai police on charges of blackmailing PSI, an international company based in Saudi Arabia.
The company was highlighted in Malaysia as it had previous connection with 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
"The expose by the Thai police is a serious matter and we will investigate it as soon as possible," said Khalid.
