2 DAP MPs claim trial to participating in unlawful Bersih 4 rally

Two DAP members of parliament (MP) pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here to a charge of participating in an unlawful street protest during the Bersih 4 Kuching rally.

Bandar Kuching MP Chong Chieng Jen and Stampin MP Julian Tan Kok Ping were alleged to have participated in the illegal procession from Jalan Borneo to Song Kheng Hai Padang, from 2pm to 3pm, on Aug 29.

Chong is also Kota Sentosa assemblyman and DAP state chairman.

Judge Amelati Parnell set bail of RM5,000 in one surety each and fixed March 3 and 4 for trial.
