20 flood victims in Pasir Putih evacuated

Twenty people from Kampung Daram Buaya, Gaal, here, were evacuated to a relief centre, on Monday night.

A Pasir Puteh Fire and Rescue Station spokesman said they were from six families who were evacuated to Sekolah Kebangsaan Changgai, here, at 11.30pm.

"We expect more people to be evacuted following heavy rain since yesterday until this morning," he said when contacted today.

Checks by Bernama also revealed that residents living in low-lying areas especially near Sungai Semerak were preparing to evacuate as the water lever was rising.
