The number of flood victims in Kota Tinggi dropped to 201 people who remained at three relief centres this afternoon compared with 268 people this morning.

Johor National Security Council assistant secretary Mejar Ronzi Mohd Khairan said as at 3pm this afternoon, the victims involved were from 51 families from Kampung Gembut Dalam, Kampung Mawai Baru and Kampung Perpat in Sedili.

"Only three evacuation centres are still open after a relief centre housing 67 victims from 16 families in Kampung Tuan Seh was closed at 2pm," he said when contacted here today.

He said from 201 people, 112 of them were being relocated to the village community halls in Kampung Gembut Dalam, 52 people in Kampung Mawai Baru and 37 people in Kampung Perpat.

He said despite prevailing fair weather in the three villages today, the victims could not return home as their houses were still flooded.
