2014 Umno General Assembly to be held from Nov 25-29

The Umno General Assembly this year will take place from Nov 25 to 29 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the meetings of the Umno Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings would be opened by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on the night of Nov 25.

Najib, who is also Umno president, said the presidential briefing would be delivered on the evening of Nov 25. He said the Wanita, Youth and Puteri conferences would take place on Nov 26, followed by a special meeting of Umno's Supreme Council later in the night. "The General Assembly will start on Nov 27 to 29 while the president's dinner is on Nov 27," he told reporters after chairing an Umno Supreme Council Meeting at the Putra World Trade Centre here today.

Najib said the 2014 International Forum would also be held during the assembly with the theme "Hyper Connected World Challenges in Nation Building" on Nov 24 and 25. In addition, he said, to date, all Umno divisions and wings had conducted their meetings, except one division which applied for a postponement to Oct 19.

As is normally done, the assembly will be held after all divisional meetings are carried out.
