2017 Budget: B40 group given various incentives
An initial 5,000 units would be built with prices ranging from RM40,000 to RM50,000 per unit.
The plight of the bottom 40 per cent (B40) income group continues to receive the government’s attention.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced a host of initiatives for this group during the tabling of the 2017 Budget today including the MyBeautiful New Home programme with an allocation of RM200 million.
For a start, 5,000 units would be built with prices ranging from RM40,000 to RM50,000 per unit.
The government will also finance RM20,000 while the remaining will be paid as instalments by each owner.
The Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry meanwhile would build 9,850 houses under the People’s Housing Programme (PPR) with an allocation of RM134 million.
Apart from that some 11,250 PPR are currently being built with an allocation of RM576 million.
Each unit would be sold between RM35,000 and RM42,000.
