26 individuals from the JUPEM and PGM have been stranded on Mount Gagau, Lake Kenyir, for the past three days.
Bad weather has made it impossible to extract a group of Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM) staff and members of the General Operations Force (PGA) by helicopter.
The bad weather that has been affecting the entire East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia has caused the 26 individuals to be stranded on Mount Gagau, Kenyir Lake, for the past three days, according to a report by the New Straits Times.
The group were in the location to conduct surveying and mapping works in and around the mountain area.
Rozizah Abnihajar, public relation officer of the Kuala Berang Fire and Rescue Department, told the New Straits Times that the group had started hiking down yesterday.
They should be arriving at the foot of the mountain Monday afternoon where a team will be on standby waiting to receive them.
