The security forces has discovered three new graves in Kampung Tanduo.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib said the graves contained 15 dead Sulu gunmen’s bodies.
“The graves were within the vicinity of the big grave that we found 10 days ago. With this finding, the total number of the enemies that we have shot dead is now 61,” he said at a press conference today.
Meanwhile, he said the dead bodies of the Sulu gunmen brought out of the battle areas will be buried according to the Islam way if the Philippines government does not want to reclaim the bodies.
He said Malaysia will only give Philippines three days to make the decision whether they want the bodies back or otherwise.
“If Philippines does not respond in three days, we will bury the bodies the Islam way, if the dead is a Muslim.
“That means we will clean the body, conduct prayers and bury the body in an muslim graveyard,” he said .
Hamza said the police has already sent an official letter to the Philippines embassy on the day the bodies were brought out as well as on the day the post mortem was conducted.
Hamza said a total of 27 bodies have been brought out of the operation area so far.
