30 Philippines, Indonesian citizens jailed for using fake MyKads

A total of 30 Philippines and Indonesian citizens were today sentenced to between three to five months of imprisonment after pleading guilty to have used fake MyKad belonging to others.
A total of 30 Philippines and Indonesian citizens were today sentenced between three to five months of imprisonment after pleading guilty to have used fake MyKad belonging to others.
The 28 men and three women between the ages of 18 to 56, were caught in a joint operation between the Immigration Department and the Registration Department around Balok and Sungai Karang on Jan 21.
They were charged separately in three Majistrate courts.
About 28 of them were from the Suluk tribe in Zamboanga, Philippines a while two of them ere from Kalimantan, Indonesia.
All of them will be deported once their jail term is over.
The case was investigated under Section 25(1) (e) of the National Registration Regulations 1990.
Upon conviction, the indictment provides for a maximum jail term of three years and a fine of up to RM20,000.
