4 abducted in the Southern Philippines safe - IGP

Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed today, four Malaysians who were abducted in the southern Philippines are now safe.
All of them were now brought to Sandakan for medical examination.
"We have yet to take the statement of the victims but no ransom was paid by the police to get them freed," he told reporters after opening the 81st annual general meeting of the Royal Malaysia Police Cooperative.
The four, who were the crew of a tugboat returning to Sarawak from the Philippines, were abducted in the waters of Pulau Ligitan, Semporna, Sabah, on April 1.
They are Wong Teck Kang, 31, Wong Hung Sing, 34, Wong Teck Chii, 29, and Johny Lau Jung Hien, 21, all from Sibu, Sarawak.
