4 individuals remanded to facilitate Pahang bauxite mining investigation
The others were a woman believed to be a mining company employee, and a Pahang Minerals and Geoscience Department senior officer.
Four individuals who were detained yesterday in the federal capital and Kuantan have been remanded for four days to assist in investigations into alleged corruption involving bauxite mining in Pahang.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) obtained the remand order on the four aged between 34 and 42, Thursday, from magistrate Eric Lau.
Two of the individuals are a businessman who was also a former Pahang Minerals and Geoscience Department senior officer, and a lawyer.
The others were a woman believed to be a mining company employee, and a Pahang Minerals and Geoscience Department senior officer.

Counsel Syed Azimal Amir Syed Abu Bakar who represented the businessman and the lawyer said the suspects were being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act.
The businessman and lawyer were also represented by counsel Muhammad Hisham Abdul Rahim while the others were unrepresented.
