Forty schools located throughout the country will be selected as pioneers of a cashless transaction system in line with the Education Ministry's desire to set up a debit card system for school students in the country.
Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad (Angkasa) president Datuk Abdul Fattah Abdullah said Angkasa has provided all documents on the system which would be implemented in a few months time.
"Four companies have submitted their working papers to Angkasa to be brought to the Education Ministry. I will meet Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid to obtain his agreement to implement the system," he said.
He was speaking to reporters after a dialogue session with secondary school principals in the district here Wednesday.
