A total of 421 flood victims from 101 families still remaining at four relief centres in the state as of 4pm, said Melaka Civil Defence Department director Effendy Ali.
He said 204 of the victims were taking shelter at Sekolah Kebangsaan Belimbing Dalam, 17 at Kampung Bukit Balai community hall and 10 at Kampung Panchor community hall in the Alor Gajah District.
A total of 190 other victims from 46 families still remaining at Sekolah Kebangsaan Krubong in Central Melaka.
"Two flood relief centres, namely the Dewan Al-Rasyidin and Kampung Beringin community hall in the Alor Gajah district were closed at 1.25pm and 3pm, respectively.
"Meanwhile, the relief centre at Kampung Tanah Merah Krubong community hall in Central Melaka was closed at 2 pm today," he said in a statement here today.
In Perak, the number of flood victims recorded as of 4pm today declined to 52 from 99 in the morning, said State Fire and Rescue Department director Yahya Madif.
He said as many as 11 families comprising 53 people from Kampung Layang-Layang Kiri, Parit, who were evacuated to Surau Nurul Jannah, Parit Layang-Layang Kiri, were allowed to return home at 3 pm after flood waters receded.
Those remaining at relief centres were 36 people from eight families in Changkat Jong, Teluk Intan, and 16 people from four families in Kampung Padang Serai, Batu Hampar, Beruas, he told Bernama.
In Johor, 59 people from eight families from two villages still remaining at relief centres as of 4 pm.
Ledang District Civil Defence officer PA Mohd Shahrizan Ab Aziz said the remaining victims comprised 26 men, 17 women and 16 children.
"All of them who hail from Parit Ponorogo and Tanjung Gading still remain at the relief centre in SK Parit Bunga after being evacuated following heavy rain at 2pm yesterday," he said in a statement today.
