KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 456 individuals were detained for various offences in violation of the Movement Control Order (MCO).
Senior Minister (Defence Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a media statement on Saturday said all those detained were compounded.
Among the offences committed were not wearing face masks (174), failing to commit physical distancing (74) and failing to provide equipment to record personal details (72).
Meanwhile, Ops Benteng yesterday managed to detain 12 illegal immigrants and two land vehicles.
"The government will take stern action against any party who tries to enter the country's borders illegally and enforcement agencies will continue to tighten border control, especially in rat lanes," he said.
Meanwhile, a total of 9,960 individuals were undergoing compulsory quarantine after returning from abroad, with 381 sent to hospitals for treatment.
"A total of 58,365 individuals have returned home via international border entrances and have been housed in 63 hotels and 18 other premises including the Public Training Institute (ILA) and private educational institutions in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Johor, Sarawak , Kelantan, Perak, Kedah, Perlis, Terengganu, Sabah and Labuan," he said.
