Police arrested 51 illegal bookies in an operation at the Selangor Turf Club, Sungai Besi, on Sunday.

The suspects, aged between 19 and 65 years, were believed to have harassed patrons of the turf club.

Bukit Aman Special Task Force for Anti-vice, Gaming and Gangsterism (Stagg) commander SAC Khairi Ahrasa said 11 of the suspects were women.

"Police also seized 31 cell phones, 18 guidebooks, 15 betting slips and an unspecified amount of cash," he said when contacted by Bernama.
