523 detained for flouting RMCO, TEMCO in Amanjaya will end today - Ismail Sabri

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 523 individuals were detained for flouting the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) yesterday, said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said that of the total, 483 individuals were issued with compounds while 40 others were remanded.
In a statement on the development of RMCO today, among the offences committed were having failed to observe physical distancing, involving 105 individuals, activities in pubs and nightclubs, involving 356 individuals, while 38 were caught not wearing face masks, 20 individuals failed to provide equipment/record visitors’ particulars and four were illegal immigrants.
Meanwhile, he said, for ‘Ops Benteng’, 75 illegal immigrants were detained while three vehicles were seized in 98 roadblocks mounted yesterday.
On mandatory quarantine, Ismail Sabri said: “A total of 35,991 individuals had returned to Malaysia through the international entry points since July 24 until yesterday.”
He adds, they were from 33 countries and were housed in 67 hotels, and nine other premises including the public training institution (ILA) as well as private higher education institutions nationwide.
“Of the total, 8,349 individuals are undergoing mandatory quarantine, 103 individuals have been sent to hospitals for treatment while 27,539 individuals have been discharged and allowed to return home,” he said.
Since March 30, 10,123 public sanitation operations covering 135 zones were implemented involving 13,055 premises, including 2,715 business centres, 1,600 housing areas including the People's Housing Projects (PPRs), 2,623 public places, 354 supermarkets, and 5,763 government buildings.
Meanwhile, the targeted enhanced movement control order (TEMCO) in Melor zone that has been enforced since 14th September will also end today, as scheduled after no new cases were recorded since 13 days ago.
