A 6.2 magnitude earthquake hit Indonesia, tremors reportedly felt in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: A magnitude 6.2 earthquake occurred in Pekan Baru, Indonesia.
The Indonesian Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) confirmed the matter via a tweet on Twitter.

The quake struck 17 km northeast of Pasaman Barat at a depth of 10 kilometers.
However, it does not have the potential to cause a tsunami.
The quake was also felt in several areas in the Klang Valley, including Kuala Lumpur, Port Klang and Cyberjaya.
