Almost 7.1 million applicants have been approved to receive the 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M 2016), said Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah.
In a statement, he said this involves household assistance of RM1,050 to almost 162,000 recipients, household assistance of RM1,000 to 3.4 million recipients, household assistance of RM800 to 380,000 recipients and individual assistance of RM400 to 3.2 million recipients.
However, Husni said, those who have failed in the BRIM 2016 applications can make an appeal at any Inland Revenue Board (IRB) branch including the nearest Revenue Service Centre (RSC) and Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) from March 15, 2016 to April 15, 2016.
He said an appeal can be made by filling the appeal forms and submitting the forms together with relevant supporting documents such as income statements and copies of identity cards of spouses/dependants.
At the same time, he said, existing recipients who wish to update information on their bank accounts, beneficiaries and mailing addresses can do so by visiting any IRB, UTC or RSC branch during the appeal period.
