BANGI: A total of 74 Malaysian haj pilgrims will leave for the Holy Land from June 26 to July 2, through a package managed by Felda Travel Sdn Bhd (Felda Travel), said Felda Global Ventures Holdings (FGV) Berhad chairman Datuk Dzulkifli Abd Wahab.
He said to ensure a smooth pilgrimage for all the pilgrims, comprising 28 men and 46 women, they would be assisted by three haj guides.
Dzulkifli said he was confident that the haj guides would attend to the well being of pilgrims in the best possible manner.
"For female pilgrims, we have appointed an 'ustazah' as their haj guide (since 2018) to look after their needs and ensure their comfort," he told a press conference after officiating Kursus Haji Perdana (premier haj course) for the 1443H/2022 season here today.
Felda Travel, a subsidiary of FGV Holdings is a haj organiser appointed by Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) that started offering haj packages in 2007 has been fully accredited by the International Air Transport Association and the Malaysian Association of Tour ang Travel Agents.
To date, Dzulkifli said, a total of 1,200 pilgrims have fulfilled the fifth pillar of Islam through the haj packages offered by Felda Travel, that are priced between RM42,990 and RM55,990.
"With the help of experienced staff, we are committed to providing the best service to the pilgrims and always prepared if there is an increase in haj quota in the future," he said.
Meanwhile, Rosnani Yunus, 56, who is a retired teacher, described the opportunity to perform the pilgrimage as a great blessing for her.
"I'm physically and mentally prepared because it (peforming haj) has been my long-held dream. I received an offer from TH to perform the haj pilgrimage in 2019 but had to reject it because my sister was below the age of 45 years at that time," she said.
On the reason why she chose Felda Travel, the former teacher at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Engku Husain, Semenyih, Selangor said it was based on the positive feedback and recommendations from her friends who were very satisfied with the service provided by the company.
